SICKER MAN
On his new album, “The Missing”,
SICKER MAN displays no fear of the grand gesture.
Again and again, he swims in massive, noisy widescreen guitar sounds.
But from there it is only a small step to intimate chamber music sketches.
For SICKER MAN, neither one nor the other is an end in itself.
Everything serves the song.
In those songs, the Berliner evokes wanderlust, desire, euphoria and depression. His longtime collaborator KIKI BOHEMIA is present as an additional vocalist and soundscaper on the tracks on THE MISSING.
Her voice has characterized the SICKER MAN sound from the beginning.
On stage they let the audience be part of their musical universe.
With the help of loop machines and several instruments and toys they create a unique sound, resembling the attitude of bands like MY BLOODY VALENTINE, CLUSTER and dEUS.
